Jusuf Nurkic – Portland Trail Blazers

The Raptors are projected to be over the salary cap entering the offseason, so their moves in free agency are somewhat limited, but they could potentially target soon-to-be unrestricted agent Jusuf Nurkic.

The Portland Trail Blazers are going through a rebuild right now, which casts some doubt on Nurkic’s future there as he enters free agency.

Given his production over the years in Portland, Jusuf Nurkic will likely see more than the $12 million he made this season on a new contract, potentially putting him out of the Raptors’ price range.

However, Jusuf Nurkic has proven to be one of the better rebounding big men in the league, as he currently ranks tied for eighth in the league this year in double-doubles (30).

Providing his team with low-post scoring, as well as second-chance points, Jusuf Nurkic is a “bruiser-like” big man that could compliment Pascal Siakam in the frontcourt nicely.

The only problem with Nurkic though is that he is not an above-average athlete and is not a big man that would run the court well in Toronto. On the other side of things though, the Raptors play at the fifth slowest pace in the league this season, which suits Nurkic nicely.
