Myles Turner – Indiana Pacers

At the trade deadline, the Pacers were interested in moving on from Myles Turner, but were unable to draw significant interest given his foot injury. The Raptors were one of the teams monitoring Turner’s trade status before his injury and they have been said to be interested in the Pacers’ big man in the past. 

Now in his 7th NBA season, Myles Turner’s career with the Pacers can basically be summed up by trade rumors. Since they drafted him, the Pacers have always thrown Turner on the trade market, which is why it is not hard to believe that they will be on the move this offseason as he enters the final year of his contract. 

One of the best shot-blocking big men in the league, Myles Turner has led the league in blocks two of the last three seasons and was leading the league in blocked shots once again this year before suffering a “stress reaction” in his left foot. 

While he does not present much of an interior threat offensively, Myles Turner is an anchor for his team defensively, which makes him a nice fit in Toronto.

Not only do they need a strong rebounder, but the Raptors need someone who can protect the paint. Toronto has always been a strong defensive team under head coach Nick Nurse, which is why going out and trading for Myles Turner would make a lot of sense. 

His price will be fairly reasonable and Turner is only owed $17.5 million next season, allowing the Raptors to potentially stay under the tax line on the season.
