Figure Out John Collins’ Long-Term Future With Team
After agreeing to a five-year, $125 million contract this past offseason, there seems to be some tension arising between the Atlanta Hawks and John Collins.
Being just 24-years-old, John Collins has proven to be an effective secondary talent, but his status as the team’s No. 2 option is definitely in question. Not to mention, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported back in January that Collins has “grown increasingly frustrated” over his role in Atlanta.
In terms of adding another star player and getting out of a big contract, the Hawks could achieve both by possibly trading John Collins in the offseason.
Interest in him around the league is fairly neutral and the Hawks could receive some solid offers for the young forward. If he does not want to be in Atlanta anymore, the Hawks should be doing everything they can to get a grand return for John Collins right now.

There are a handful of teams across the league that could have a need for a versatile frontcourt option like John Collins and with him set to make $23.5 million next season, the Hawks could instantly have enough cap room to bring in another star-like talent to their roster to pair with Trae Young.
Moving on from Collins is something that is looking more and more likely for the Atlanta Hawks in the near future, especially since he is the player that holds the most value on their roster outside of their All-Star point guard.
