3. Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors were one of the teams looking to upgrade in the middle ahead of the trade deadline. They were linked to Jakob Poeltl of the San Antonio Spurs and Myles Turner of the Indiana Pacers, but no deals were made for either player.
Instead, they acquired Poeltl’s teammate, Thaddeus Young, to help shore things up in the frontcourt. Regardless of how things go the remainder of the season, the Toronto Raptors will be looking to add a center to the mix this offseason.
Toronto has an incredible core with Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr., OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes, Pascal Siakam, and Precious Achiuwa. They would likely have to part with at least one of those players and some draft capital to land Christian Wood, but it could be a worthwhile move to balance out the roster.
Swapping Anunoby for Wood could push players into more natural positions, as Siakam has been playing a lot of center this season with Barnes at power forward.
