The Houston Rockets are a team that many people will have their eyes on once the offseason rolls around and trade rumors begin to pick up again. They were expected to be active sellers at the NBA trade deadline but ended up not making any deals.

One of the players who could garner a lot of interest this offseason is Christian Wood. Wood has out-performed his contract since signing with the Rockets as a free agent in 2020. In his time with the Rockets, Wood is averaging 19 points, 9.9 rebounds, two assists, and one block in 31.5 minutes per game. He is also knocking down 37.3 percent of his 3-point attempts.

There are plenty of teams around the NBA who would have loved to add that kind of production ahead of the NBA trade deadline, but the Rockets ultimately held onto him. He could become an even more valuable asset this offseason, as he will be on a very affordable expiring contract.

Any team that acquires him will likely be doing it intending to sign him to a long-term deal once that one expires.

As a player that can impact the game on both ends of the court, Wood will be a popular trade target this offseason. Here are three teams that should monitor a trade for him in the offseason.
