Rookie of The Year: Evan Mobley – Cleveland Cavaliers
Scottie Barnes, Cade Cunningham, Franz Wagner, Josh Giddey and other rookies have all had tremendous seasons, but none of them have had the kind of impact Evan Mobley has had on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Entering the year, the Cavaliers were picked by many to finish near the bottom of the league standings and I even had them finishing 13th in the NBA. Well, we were all certainly wrong, as the Cavaliers are a young, hungry team that plays with a lot of energy and they are an extremely fun team to watch.
Defensively, they are one of the best teams in the league and that is in-large part because of the contributions of Evan Mobley. Both he and Jarrett Allen make up the best young frontcourt in the entire league and on the season, Mobley is averaging 14.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and is shooting 50.3% from the floor.
Compared to the rest of his rookie class, Evan Mobley ranks third in scoring, first in rebounding, third in offensive rebounds, first in blocked shots and first in field goal percentage (min. 400 attempts).
