Sixth-Man of The Year: Tyler Herro – Miami Heat
The Sixth-Man of the Year race is practically over at this point, as Tyler Herro will be the recipient of the award this season unless Kelly Oubre Jr. or Jordan Clarkson score 30 points per game off-the-bench the rest of the season.
The Miami Heat are currently tied for the best record in the Eastern Conference with the Chicago Bulls and while they have had to deal with a bunch of injuries this season, one thing that has always been constant about the Heat is the play of their second-unit.
Miami ranks 6th in the league this season in bench points and Tyler Herro has been their main catalyst off-the-bench, averaging a career-high 20.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and shooting 37.4% from three-point range.
On the year, Herro ranks second in the league in total points scored off-the-bench this season with 715 total bench points. He has started in 10 of the 46 games he has played in, but at full-strength, Tyler Herro is the Heat’s “sixth-man” and he is the first guy to come into the game off-the-bench.
