2. Paul Millsap
Given the recent ankle sprain that Anthony Davis suffered, the Los Angeles Lakers will likely look for frontcourt help on the buyout market. They were already in need of some help there and his injury only exacerbates the need.
Paul Millsap would be an excellent target for the Lakers, but they will have to fend off the likes of the Golden State Warriors and possibly Milwaukee Bucks to land him. With 129 games of playoff experience, Millsap would be a valuable addition to any team that he lands with.
One of the reasons that he was hoping to get moved by the Brooklyn Nets ahead of the deadline was that he wasn’t receiving the playing time he thought that he would. He wants more minutes and the Lakers would be able to provide him with some, especially with Davis on the sideline.
Even when Davis is back in the lineup, Millsap should be able to carve out a role as he can play both frontcourt spots. He is still a solid defender and someone capable of knocking down a 3-pointer from time to time as well.
