The NBA trade deadline delivered plenty of fireworks, most notably highlighted by former league-MVP James Harden being on the move to the Philadelphia 76ers.

In one of the biggest surprises of the year, the Nets’ marriage with Harden lasted all of 13 months and the Nets’ “Big 3” of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and James Harden only played in a total of 16 games together.

Likely to go down as the biggest failed experiment in NBA history, the Nets now turn their attention to winning a title with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving… Oh, and they also now have Ben Simmons if you missed that!

Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two first-round picks come to Brooklyn in exchange for James Harden and Paul Millsap, actually making the Nets better than they were with Harden given the new depth they now have.

In other news around the NBA at the deadline, the Kings continued to upgrade their depth around De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis with Donte DiVincenzo, Josh Jackson and Trey Lyles, as they moved Marvin Bagley III in the process as part of a four-team trade with the Bucks, Clippers and Pistons that also resulted in veteran Serge Ibaka going to Milwaukee.

The Boston Celtics were also busy at the trade deadline, as Brad Stevens and the Celtics’ front-office did exactly what many thought they would do – move Dennis Schroder and Josh Richardson for value around Tatum and Brown.

Josh Richardson, Romeo Langford and two draft picks found their way from Boston to San Antonio in exchange for Derrick White and Dennis Schroder, Enes Freedom and Bruno Fernando were on the move to Houston in exchange for former Celtics’ big man Daniel Theis.

Boston also ended up moving Bol Bol and P.J. Dozier, both of which are out for the season, to the Magic for a 2023 second-round pick.
