The Philadelphia 76ers have been brought up in hypothetical trades as much as any team in the NBA. Yet, there hasn’t been much movement on the trade front when it comes to them, as the Ben Simmons saga continues.
Finding a home for Simmons before the NBA trade deadline on February 10th could be the best way for the 76ers to put themselves in contention for the NBA title.
If they succeed in their quest of adding an impact All-Star caliber player to a team that is already among the best in the Eastern Conference, they will be that much more dangerous come playoff time.
Philadelphia currently sits in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, but they are only 1.5 games behind the first-place Miami Heat after defeating the previously first-place Chicago Bulls over the weekend.

Joel Embiid is playing at an MVP level and the 76ers are poised to make a run in the postseason even without Simmons on the court.
However, if they were able to make an upgrade using Simmons, they could become title favorites. But, given how difficult those negotiations have proven to be, as Daryl Morey has not budged on his price, could the team look into other deals to upgrade the roster?
