Philadelphia 76ers Receive: F/G Dillon Brooks, F Kyle Anderson, G De’Anthony Melton, 2022 First-Round pick (Top-10 Protected, via LAL), 2022 First-Round Pick (Top-Six Protected via UTA), 2024 Second-Round Pick (via LAL)
This hypothetical deal between the Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers was put together by Greg Swartz over at Bleacher Report. His goal for the piece was to build deals that would blow up the 2022 playoff picture and this one surely would accomplish that.
The saga between the 76ers and Ben Simmons has been going on for months. It doesn’t sound like a resolution is coming before the deadline, but this is an interesting deal to break down.
The Grizzlies make a big swing to try and cement their status in the Western Conference as one of the top teams. Simmons has his flaws, but at 25-years old with multiple All-Star and All-Defensive Team nominations in his career, he fits perfectly into the timeline Memphis has.
But, to acquire him, it will be costly. The Grizzlies are parting ways with key parts of their rotation in Dillon Brooks, Kyle Anderson and De’Anthony Melton. All three are strong two-way players, but none have the ceiling that Simmons possesses.

In addition to the players, the 76ers are getting strong draft capital. That Lakers pick could very well land in the lottery. The pick from the Utah Jazz is likely to convey as well unless they have a collapse of epic proportions. A future second-round pick is always good to build trade packages with as well.
How does this deal impact both teams involved? Let’s take a look at it from each of their perspectives starting with the Grizzlies.
