Does this trade make sense for the Toronto Raptors?
Steven Adams, Ziaire Williams, Brandon Clarke, Kyle Anderson and three first-round picks is certainly an intriguing offer of value both now and in the future for the Toronto Raptors, but it is hard to see them accepting this trade.
Not only would it be extremely tough to take on four contracts for the price of one, most likely leading to this deal including 1-2 other teams, but it is hard to really pinpoint how the Raptors get better in this trade.
Being in the final year of his contract, Kyle Anderson would be nothing more than a salary-filler and it is hard to imagine Steven Adams would be a long-term solution at center.
Brandon Clarke, Ziaire Williams and three first-round picks is a lot of future value, however, Toronto would be taking a big chance on all of these assets because they are not finished products.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Raptors Discussed Siakam For Sabonis Trade With Pacers
You know what to expect from Pascal Siakam and while he is 27-years-old, the Raptors could still build around him and Fred VanVleet (27) for the foreseeable future.
Unless they get an irresistible offer for Siakam, the Raptors should not be looking to “sell” talent ahead of the trade deadline. Their starting rotation is one of the best in the league this season, they just simply need more secondary and bench talents if they are to be a contending team once more.
