The Memphis Grizzlies really are not lacking anything as a team right now and they will most likely not be wanting to sacrifice a lot of their future assets, but on the other side of things, they are currently the third-best team in the NBA right now.

No team or general manager ever wants to “waste” a season, especially given the success Memphis has found this season.

Going “all-in” to contend for a championship could force the Grizzlies to give up some key secondary talents, but it could also give them a 27-year-old All-Star.

Pascal Siakam has been great once again for the Toronto Raptors this season and through 34 games, he is averaging 21.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.3 steals and is shooting 47.5% from the floor. Being a factor on both ends of the floor, Siakam would fit in perfectly next to Jaren Jackson Jr. in the Grizzlies’ frontcourt.

Toronto is not looking to trade Pascal Siakam right now, but this is a lot of future value for them to consider in this trade with the Grizzlies.

Not only does Memphis have all of their first-round picks through 2028, but they also have three other first-round picks from the Lakers, Jazz and Warriors. Along with having young talents like Ziaire Williams, Jarrett Culver, Brandon Clarke and even Desmond Bane, the Grizzlies could put together one of the best trade packages out of anyone in this league for a player like Siakam.

The Raptors believe that at full-strength, they can contend for a playoff spot this season and be a “sleeper team” in the Eastern Conference. This could ultimately result in them looking to “buy” instead of “sell” at the trade deadline, but this trade with the Grizzlies still allows them to possibly contend for a playoff spot.

Steven Adams would fill the void at center the Raptors have had since winning the championship in 2019 and all of Anderson, Clarke and Williams provide immediate secondary depth to a team that currently ranks dead-last in bench production this season.

This is certainly a lot of value for the Memphis Grizzlies to sacrifice, but it may just end up being the perfect amount for them to land Pascal Siakam, giving them arguably the best player on the move at the deadline this season.
