Would this trade make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers?

On the flip side, this deal could seriously help the Los Angeles Lakers on both sides of the court. Their defense has been the main issue, but their offense hasn’t been too great, either. LeBron James just doesn’t have the right pieces to work with.

Josh Richardson is shooting nearly 40 percent from three-point range this year, which would be a huge help to the Lakers’ offense. They just don’t have a ton of consistent shooters on the team, and Richardson has been just that this season.

In addition, Richardson would also help them on the defensive side of the floor. He’s been renowned for his defense his entire career. Richardson’s a versatile wing defender who would give the Lakers some much-needed help on the perimeter.

Los Angeles’ starting lineup would look something like this – Russell Westbrook, Josh Richardson, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and insert center here. He would be a great fit next to their current Big 3 and would seamlessly fit into their starting lineup.

Adding Richardson in exchange for two deep bench players, a guy who hasn’t played this season, and a distant first-round pick isn’t a bad deal for a team that’s looking to win right now. The Lakers should seriously consider this deal if it were to be on the table.
