Los Angeles Lakers Receive: Josh Richardson
Boston Celtics Receive: G Kendrick Nunn, G Wayne Ellington, F Kent Bazemore, 2027 First-Round Pick
There are a lot of moving pieces in this deal, considering only one player is likely to get much playing time this year. This trade would help the Los Angeles Lakers improve on both ends, while the Boston Celtics would shed cap and prepare for the future.
Josh Richardson has been great for the C’s so far this season. The veteran wing is averaging 9.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 44.5 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from behind the three-point line.
Meanwhile, Kendrick Nunn hasn’t played a game yet this season. However, he was a huge part of the Miami Heat’s 2020 NBA Finals run and had another great season last year.
Nunn is under contract for this season and has a player option for next year.

Wayne Ellington has been alright for the Lakers this season, shooting pretty well from behind the arc. As for Kent Bazemore, he’s fallen out of favor in Frank Vogel’s rotation, so trading him away wouldn’t be a problem for LA.
A future first-round pick completes this trade. But all-in-all, why would both sides be interested in this trade? Why should the Lakers be intrigued by this trade? What about the Celtics? Would they want to do a deal like this one?
