Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
The idea of trading Domantas Sabonis seems like it has passed in Indiana, but this is surely an intriguing scenario for them to consider. The only way the Indiana Pacers would consider trading Sabonis at this point is if they were to receive an All-Star-like talent and draft compensation in return and they get just that in this three-team deal.
Brandon Ingram is an elite-level scorer on the wing and the Pacers would get two draft picks in 2022 from this deal, allowing them to add more young prospects to their rotation next to rookies Chris Duarte and Isaiah Jackson.
One of the biggest problems the Indiana Pacers have as an organization right now is the fact that they do not have a sense of direction right now and they have no identity. They may have some talented players, but they always seem to be injured and the Pacers cannot find any consistency on the floor right now.
Building for the future is essential and by making this trade, they can add future value while not going into a complete rebuilding process.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: NBA Insider Details What It Would Take For Pacers To Trade Sabonis
Malcolm Brogdon and Brandon Ingram would form a really strong scoring duo and the Pacers would still have the options to possibly trade both Caris LeVert and Myles Turner at the trade deadline this season.
Who knows, maybe they could hang onto both players and suddenly, this team has a strong looking core with Brogdon, Ingram, LeVert and Turner. This trade basically opens the door for the Indiana Pacers to pick a path for themselves, something they have seemed to be struggling with over the last few seasons.
While Ingram’s contract would cost them more in the long run, he is certainly more of an intriguing offensive threat than the likes of Domantas Sabonis.
