Does this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?
If they can get their hands on Jerami Grant, there is really no reason that the Kings should not be interested in a deal like this. However, the chances of them landing Jerami Grant are very slim due to the fact that the Kings do not have many assets that would be of use to the Pistons.
Tristan Thompson is nothing more than a salary-filler in this trade due to the fact that he is on an expiring contract and Marvin Bagley’s upside is pretty limited due to the fact that he is going to be a restricted free agent in the offseason.
From the Kings’ perspective though, Jerami Grant is another high-level scoring option that they can pair with De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton. This team’s biggest need right now is for talent on the wing and Grant has really come into his own as a two-way star at either the small-forward or power-forward positions.
In Detroit next to a bunch of young talents, Jerami Grant has found a lot of success and he could very well do the same in Sacramento as they continue to rebuild with some young, high-level talents.
