Toronto Raptors Receive: C Jakob Poeltl
San Antonio Spurs Receive: F/C Chris Boucher, TOR 2022 1st Round Pick (Top-10 Protected)

While they are barely in the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference, the Toronto Raptors are definitely a better team than their record shows.

Both VanVleet and Siakam could be All-Stars this season and ranking 11th in the league in offensive rating, the Raptors surely have enough firepower in their starting rotation to earn an actual playoff spot.

However, their frontcourt definitely needs to be figured out moving forward. There have been rumors about whether or not Siakam is a long-term solution for this team and with all the question marks surrounding Achiuwa, Birch and Boucher at the deadline this season, it does appear to make sense to target someone like Jakob Poeltl.

Averaging 12.8 points (career-high) and 9.1 rebounds (career-high) this season, Poeltl has quickly cemented himself as one of the stronger double-double threats in this league.

It may not appear that the Raptors need another center given all of their big man depth, but they just need to try and find consistency at every single position.

The center position has given them the most problems through the years, which is why a move to bring back Jakob Poeltl could make sense for them.

Not only is Chris Boucher in the final year of his contract and someone that Toronto has been dangling in trade talks recently, but he could wind up filling a role in San Antonio given that they have a bunch of ayoung, athletic talents.

San Antonio has no identity right now and with them rebuilding, they need to try and gather as much youthful talent as possible. While Chris Boucher is 29-years-old and does not fit their rebuild right now, adding a 2022 first-round pick could be highly valuable to the Spurs.

Jakob Poeltl has played well for the Spurs this season, but moving the $18.1M remaining on his contract for another draft pick could definitely make some sense for this franchise, especially since they have Drew Eubanks and Jock Landale in their frontcourt.
