Would this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
The Indiana Pacers desperately need to reset their franchise. They’ve been a middle-of-the-pack team for years now, and it’s clear that this current core isn’t working. Trading Domantas Sabonis in exchange for two younger stars would help them do that.
As mentioned, Anfernee Simons has been on fire lately. He’s shown flashes of being an All-Star-caliber point guard. Obviously, playing at that level for 10 or 15 games is one thing, but he’s the type of player the Pacers should be willing to take a chance on.
The same can be said for Nassir Little. He’s a solid forward who can defend and move between the three and the four. Putting him next to Chris Duarte on the wing could create a nice, young, potential-filled wing duo that would be able to grow together.
On top of that, they would be getting two unprotected first-round picks in this deal, too. If the Portland Trail Blazers don’t end up playing as well as they might hope, then those picks would be a whole lot more valuable than the Indiana Pacers originally expected.

Robert Covington would be thrown in to match salaries, but he’d be off the books by the end of the season, and the same can be said for Tony Snell. Overall, getting two solid young players and two picks in exchange for Sabonis is a solid deal.
