Going into the year, the Portland Trail Blazers should have had one goal – to help Damian Lillard compete for an NBA championship. A little over halfway through the season, they aren’t even close to doing that. This season has been pretty close to the worst-case scenario.

They fired their GM Neil Olshey, reports of a rift between Chauncey Billups and the players popped up, and injuries have plagued their season. CJ McCollum suffered a collapsed lung (great to see him back on the court) and Lillard has been dealing with an abdominal injury.

Lillard’s injury is set to keep him out for a while, and according to the man himself, if the team isn’t going to compete for a championship, he isn’t going to return to the court. So now, the Blazers should be focused on putting a great team around him for the future.

In that case, they should reach out to the Indiana Pacers.

Earlier this year, it was reported that the Pacers were planning on blowing up their team. According to the rumors, three of their core players are available in trades – Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner, and Caris LeVert.

Of those three, Sabonis has the best resume. He’s a two-time All-Star and could really improve the Portland Trail Blazers’ frontcourt rotation. What sort of trade package could the Blazers put together to pry Sabonis away from the Indiana Pacers?
