Would this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?
The Sacramento Kings have two great young point guards in De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton. However, they struggle mightily on the defensive side of the floor. This trade would see them commit to one of their young guards while also adding some defense.
As mentioned, Jonathan Isaac has shown flashes of potential that lead one to believe he could be a Defensive Player of the Year candidate one day. Even Markelle Fultz is a solid defender. The issue is, neither have seen the floor in a while.
That’s the huge risk with this trade. The Kings would have to get some sort of insurance that both Isaac and Fultz would be ready to take the court again sometime soon. Because if they are, then this trade could work out beautifully for them, especially if they trade their veterans.
Sactown’s new, young starting lineup could look something like this – Haliburton, Fultz, Chuma Okeke, Isaac, and Chimezie Metu. Obviously, they would have to fill in some holes, but those could be filled with other trades they complete.

In the end, this probably isn’t a trade the Kings would consider. Fox is good, and certainly better than anyone they’d be getting back. But if they want to commit to Haliburton and add some much-needed defense, this package is, at the very least, intriguing.
