Sacramento Kings Receive: G/F Ben Simmons, F Tobias Harris, 2024 First-Round Pick (Lottery Protected)
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G De’Aaron Fox, G Buddy Hield, F Harrison Barnes, C Tristan Thompson
Wow. This trade would absolutely break the NBA (and that’s why it’s very unlikely to happen). The Sacramento would be completely reshaping the way their organization looks, while the Philadelphia 76ers would be getting some much-needed Joel Embiid reinforcements.
De’Aaron Fox has been solid this year, but compared to his breakout year last season, his numbers are a bit down. The point guard is averaging 20.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists while shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 25.3 percent from three-point land.
Harrison Barnes has been having a great season in Sactown, putting up 16.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists while shooting 45.3 percent from the field and 41.9 percent from deep.
Meanwhile, though Buddy Hield isn’t shooting well from the field, he’s still a sniper from range. He’s averaging 15.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while shooting 39.6 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from deep.

Ben Simmons has yet to play a game this season, but he’s still (in theory) a Defensive Player of the Year candidate. Tobias Harris, however, is struggling this year. The veteran forward is putting up 18.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists while shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from three-point land.
Both teams would be shaking things up a ton with this trade. That being said, what’s the benefit of this trade for each team involved? Why is this a good trade for the 76ers to make? At the same time, why should the Kings be interested?
