2006 was a good year for the Sacramento Kings not only because they made the playoffs, but because they were a relevant team in the NBA. Since then though, the Kings have not made the playoffs and they have only won about 36% of their games.

A whole decade-and-a-half of disappointment in Sacramento has led to this season, yet another hope for the Kings to end their suffering. Over 50% through the 2021-22 regular season now, the Kings find themselves 18-28 and once again looking for answers as the trade deadline nears.

Being just 1.5 games back from the Portland Trail Blazers for the 10-seed in the Western Conference, Sacramento is actually very much in the mix for a spot in the play-in tournament, but their front-office seems prepared to make some big roster moves.

Since the offseason, the Kings have pushed hard for a Ben Simmons trade with the 76ers, yet Philadelphia has been unwilling to listen to offers from Sacramento.
