Does this trade make sense for the Boston Celtics?

Kevin Pangos and Dylan Windler are not game-changing talents for the Boston Celtics and neither is a second-round pick in 2022, but these are all assets that they could utilize moving forward.

The Spurs’ 2022 second-round pick gives the Celtics three total draft picks in 2022, offering a chance to possibly flip draft capital for more talent at the trade deadline, and both players could be utilized in some capacity.

Payton Pritchard would obviously see his minutes increase with the departure of Dennis Schroder, but Kevin Pangos has proven to be a reliable ball-handler and could find success as a primary passer in Boston.

As for Dylan Windler, injuries have limited his chances to be on the court for the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he is a sharpshooting forward that the Celtics could definitely utilize should he be able to stay healthy.

The Celtics are not going to be keeping Dennis Schroder past this season, so they might as well try to get any kind of value they can for him. Having a $17M TPE to use at the trade deadline, the Celtics can easily replace his production off-the-bench.
