Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers have zero cap space, no real tradable assets and have dug themselves into a big hole, but they have discussed the possibility of moving on from Russell Westbrook.
The nine-time All-Star has not fit in well with the Lakers since joining them in the offseason and while moving his contract seems to be impossible at this point, the Lakers could hypothetically get involved in a massive deal with the Philadelphia 76ers that includes both Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris.
Maybe they do not end up with Ben Simmons, but they could absolutely look to move Westbrook to a team like the Orlando Magic in exchange for Tobias Harris in a multi-time deal.
Strictly from a hypothetical standpoint, this trade would ultimately work for the Lakers from a fit and financial standpoint, however it is hard to imagine that any team in the league, even the Magic, would want to take on Westbrook’s salary right now.

General manager Rob Pelinka and the Lakers’ front-office are going to be searching for ways to better their roster though heading into the trade deadline. Trading Russell Westbrook remains a possibility and if they are able to get out of his contract, someone like Tobias Harris could make perfect sense as a complimentary scorer on the wing.
