The Philadelphia 76ers continue to have ongoing conversations with teams across the NBA about potential Ben Simmons trades, but now Tobias Harris’ name is being brought up as a possible trade asset as well.

On Tuesday, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst and Marc Spears got together on the Hoop Collective podcast and talked about the possibility of the 76ers looking to trade Tobias Harris in a trade package including Ben Simmons.

Harris signed a five-year, $180M extension with the 76ers in 2019, but his contributions have been very inconsistent over the years. Through 30 games this season, Harris is averaging 18.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and is shooting 45.5% from the floor, but his 29.5% three-point shooting is a concern for the Sixers.

Why Philadelphia would want to move on from Tobias Harris even though he is their second-best scorer next to Joel Embiid is definitely a question mark, but there does seem to be some interest within this organization about moving on from him.

Both Ben Simmons ($33M) and Tobias Harris ($35.9M) carry heavy, long-term deals with them into the trade deadline, making things very difficult for other teams across the league who are interested in either player.

Right now, it seems unlikely that the 76ers will elect to trade Harris without moving Simmons, but in the event that Simmons does get moved at the trade deadline, Harris could be attached to said deal as well.

He may not be an All-Star-level talent, but Tobias Harris is definitely a key secondary contributor that could make a difference for a wide-variety of teams across this league.

Not only could Harris be a stand-alone star on a rebuilding team, but he could also fill the void of being a secondary scorer on another championship contending team.

What the Philadelphia 76ers ultimately decide to do this season ahead of the NBA trade deadline could wind up having monumental side effects for the rest of the NBA for many years to come. With this said, let’s take a look at three logical destinations for Tobias Harris should he be traded along with Ben Simmons this year.
