Does this trade make sense for the Atlanta Hawks?

This trade would result in the Atlanta Hawks moving above the luxury tax line on the season and ownership would be responsible with paying extra money to field the team that they have, but the Hawks desperately need to make somewhat of a big move if they are to make the playoffs at this rate!

Going from Eastern Conference Finals to missing the playoffs would surely be embarrassing for this franchise, one that is trying to prove that last season was not a fluke. 

The Eastern Conference is much better this season than it has been in the past and it is only going to get more competitive with young teams like the Hornets, Cavaliers and Raptors on the rise. 

The margin for error for the Hawks this season and moving forward is slim, which is why trading Gallinari and Reddish is a real possibility leading into the trade deadline.

Derrick White and Thaddeus Young offer more of an upside offensively for the Hawks and Young has proven that he can hold his own defensively for a team in the frontcourt. Derrick White is on a long-term, $68M deal, but at least Atlanta would have their backcourt locked up moving forward with Young, White and Bogdanovic.
