Ben Simmons Remains In Philadelphia
Ben Simmons wants to leave Philadelphia and has been begging for a trade for months, but Daryl Morey and the 76ers’ front-office have been unwilling to budge on their asking price for the three-time All-Star.
The 76ers are wanting an All-Star-level talent and championship-ready player in return for Simmons because they feel as if they are still a real contending threat in the Eastern Conference this season.
Currently 23-16 and just 1 game back from the Bucks for the 4-seed in the East, the 76ers have been surging as of late because of the MVP-like play of Joel Embiid. The All-Star big man has scored at least 30 points in 9 of his team’s last 10 games and the 76ers are 8-2 in this stretch.
With a great supporting cast around him in Tobias Harris, Seth Curry, Tyrese Maxey and others, the 76ers are definitely still a threat in the Eastern Conference, but they need to get something for Ben Simmons if they are to take that next step and have a chance to beat teams like the Nets, Heat, Bulls and Bucks in a seven-game playoff series.

However, moving Simmons is not this easy because there are very few All-Star-level players available at the trade deadline this season. Russell Westbrook and John Wall are the first two names that come to mind from a salary-matching standpoint, but neither player would really help the 76ers advance.
Maybe someone like Jerami Grant or Caris LeVert could help the 76ers become a better team, but the 76ers may not be willing to drop their value on Ben Simmons to this point.
With the way things stand right now, there are no frameworks of deals in-place for Ben Simmons and with the NBA Trade Deadline less than a month away, it is hard to imagine that any team in this league is going to give up their best assets for Ben Simmons.
