Would this trade make sense for the Toronto Raptors?
This deal would land Toronto another All-Star to add to their already-talented frontcourt. Domantas Sabonis and Pascal Siakam would be an odd pairing, but they’d also make up one of the best frontcourts in the league.
Realistically speaking, Nurse would have to get creative when pumping out his starting lineups if Sabonis were to be added to the team. The likely starting lineup would be Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr., Scottie Barnes, Siakam, and Sabonis.
With the way Sabonis plays, he could easily transition to playing the center position. He’s already one of the best rebounders in the league, and if given the chance to be a full-time center, he’d be a great playmaker for them at that position. Sabonis is one of the best passing big men in the league.
Meanwhile, Torrey Craig would give them a nice two-way wing to bring off the bench. Craig is a veteran who has made a solid impact in every city he’s been in. If the Raptors want to compete for a playoff spot this year, he would certainly help them accomplish that.

Trading away three young assets may seem a bit odd, but Domantas Sabonis is only 25 years old himself. They’d still be a super young team. All Toronto would be doing is consolidating assets into one, All-Star-caliber big man to help them be more relevant in the East.
