Back around when this whole Ben Simmons drama with the 76ers started and he requested a trade, it was said that the All-Star preferred a trade to a team in California

It has been said that the Kings do not have the assets the 76ers front-office wants in return and both the Warriors and Clippers have major cap situations, making it extremely difficult to try and navigate Simmons’ contract.

So what about the Los Angeles Lakers?

They too are well over the salary cap and luxury tax line for the season, but Ben Simmons’ agent, Rich Paul, should be more than happy to try and get his client to the Lakers in order to team up with LeBron James, who happens to be Rich Paul’s best friend.

The Los Angeles Lakers have really struggled this season and it is hard to imagine that Ben Simmons of all players would be the guy to help them out, but he would definitely fit in much better than Russell Westbrook has!

The “Russell Westbrook experiment” has failed for the Lakers and they would be smart to try and move him for anything they can right now because his contract is a cancer to their roster.

Ben Simmons’ contract is not too much better, but if GM Rob Pelinka can somehow pull off a Westbrook for Simmons swap, then he deserves Executive of the Year.

However, this is very wishful thinking because Daryl Morey is not dumb. Russell Westbrook with Joel Embiid would be a terrible fit and the 76ers are in a much better situation than the Lakers right now, so why would the Sixers want to help Los Angeles out?
