Would this trade make sense for the Miami Heat?
It would not be an easy choice for the Miami Heat to move on from Duncan Robinson in a trade. His shooting gravity on a team that otherwise doesn’t have much for sharpshooting would leave a void.
Max Strus has closed games far more than Duncan Robinson despite being on a much cheaper contract. Strus has been playing out of his mind this season but doesn’t quite bring the motion shooting impact of Robinson. Regardless, doing enough at a cheaper price is ultimately what’s needed.
Moving on from Robinson’s salary before having to pay Tyler Herro seems like a logical option with how Herro is playing his way into a substantial extension. The Heat also aren’t necessarily going to be best suited bringing him off the bench long-term, either. He will need to start at some point.
Tomas Satoransky is an expiring deal and that would be perhaps the main appeal of this trade. It would be a clean way for the Heat to clear up financial spending obligations for the near future since Robinson is signed through 2025.

Jaxson Hayes perhaps could reach his potential in the Miami Heat system in their developmental program. He has been unable to do so with the Pelicans and seems unlikely to that ultimately given that Jonas Valanciunas is the team’s franchise center.
