Does this trade make sense for the New York Knicks?
Trading away Mitchell Robinson is something that seems more likely than unlikely for the New York Knicks at this point, but Charlotte does not really have anything that would be of interest to the Knicks.
Maybe Terry Rozier or Kelly Oubre Jr. would be intriguing pieces for them to add given their scoring abilities on the perimeter, but the Charlotte Hornets are not going to be willing to give either of these two guys up for only Mitchell Robinson.
While they are not as strong defensively as they were a season ago, many of the Knicks’ problems still lie on the offensive-end of the floor. When you look at their roster, who can you say that you are 100% comfortable with having the ball in the final minutes of a game?
Maybe Derrick Rose and Alec Burks have proven that they can step up in this big moment, but Julius Randle has been very inconsistent all year long, R.J. Barrett has not improved this season and almost everyone else on this roster is nothing more than a role player.

The Knicks need to add another star at the trade deadline if they can and Mitchell Robinson could wind up being a key piece in a trade package to acquire said talent. Charlotte does not have what the Knicks are looking for right now, hence why they should not look to strike a deal with them, especially since they are both competing for playoff positioning in the Eastern Conference.
