1. Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns are going to be in the market for some frontcourt help before the trade deadline. They lost an integral part of their rotation when Dario Saric tore his ACL in Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks.

JaVale McGee has done a good job filling the void in the second unit, but the team could still use a little help there. Their best trade chip is Jalen Smith, the No. 10 overall pick from the 2020 NBA Draft out of Maryland.

Could he be enough of the draft for the Portland Trail Blazers to consider parting ways with Robert Covington? Covington would be an excellent addition to the Suns, as he fits the mold of what they are looking for from their frontcourt players.

Covington can space the floor and provide some toughness to the roster. He could step right into a role either off the bench or in the starting five, providing a lot of similarities that Jae Crowder brings to the team.

His versatility to play three positions is what could draw the Suns to Covington. Monty Williams has not been afraid to go small, and adding another player that can fill in a frontcourt role in a small lineup would only make the Suns more dangerous in the long run.
