Does this trade make sense for the Charlotte Hornets?
Myles Turner has long been a trade target of the Charlotte Hornets and they could really use someone like him right now. Given how bad the Hornets are defensively and the fact that they really do not have a true rim-protector, Turner could really turn this borderline playoff team into somewhat of a real threat.
This trade would not put Charlotte on the same level as teams like the Nets, Heat, Bucks and Bulls in the Eastern Conference, but they would be in the middle-of-the-pack instead of being a play-in tournament team like last season.
Scoring is the name of the game in today’s NBA and some of the best offensive teams in the league over the years have wound up winning a championship, but what separated them from the rest of the league was the fact that they were also some of the best defensive teams in the league.
A core of LaMelo Ball, Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier and Miles Bridges is very strong offensively, but none of these four players are really known for making much of an impact on defense.

Myles Turner could wind up being the anchor for this team on defense, as well as being a secondary shooter on the perimeter in pick-and-roll situations, which the Hornets run a lot of given the fact that LaMelo Ball is one of the best passers in the league.
Trading away two future talents would be a risky move for sure, but with Kai Jones, Jalen McDaniels, Nick Richards and other young talents on this roster, the Charlotte Hornets would only improve moving forward after making this trade.
