Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
Mason Plumlee would be nothing more than a guy that fills Myles Turner’s role on this team, but both P.J. Washington and James Bouknight could really make a difference for the future success of the Indiana Pacers.
Both are former first-round picks with high-potentials and right now, the Pacers just lack overall talent compared to the rest of the Eastern Conference. For years now, the Pacers have underachieved as a franchise and it is hard to imagine that they will be able to turn things around with the group they currently have.
Malcolm Brogdon and Domantas Sabonis are not the problems and neither is Myles Turner, but Turner’s role on this roster is expendable. Whether they bring in a new center or have Sabonis split time with Washington, the Indiana Pacers can replace Turner’s overall production.
Right now, Chris Duarte is the only young, core talent on this roster and not having a bunch of value draft picks, it is hard to see where the Indiana Pacers go from here right now.

Maybe they wind up keeping who they have on their roster right now, but in order for this franchise to have a chance of increasing their potential moving forward, they must try and add more future value to their roster.
Moving Myles Turner to Charlotte returns two young talents and a somewhat consistent veteran right now, which is why this trade is worth consideration from Indiana’s point of view.
