What this trade means for Indiana Pacers & Sacramento Kings
The Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings both look like non-playoff teams this season and both teams are going to have to go through some kind of a rebuild.
With Domantas Sabonis and Malcolm Brogdon, the Indiana Pacers already have a strong foundation in place, but they need to find ways to add more diverse, young talents to their team. Marvin Bagley III and Malik Beasley can not only contribute right now, but they are 22 and 25-years-old, respectively.
While Bagley is in the final year of his contract, they could easily sign him to a new, smaller deal worth anywhere from $8M-$12M per year and Beasley is under contract through the 2023-24 season, with a team option in the final year of his deal.
Neither player is too costly for the Pacers, they provide depth at various spots on the floor and with the addition of Marvin Bagley, Indiana can now consider possibly moving Myles Turner for value. This trade opens the door of possibilities for the Pacers and adding youth is something they desperately need to do in order to find success moving forward.

The Sacramento Kings have De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton in their backcourt, but the rest of their roster is a mess. Richaun Holmes is solid when healthy and rookie Davion Mitchell looks promising, however Harrison Barnes, Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley III and pretty much the rest of this roster find themselves on the trade block.
At this point, acquiring future assets for what they have is key, but adding some veterans like Danny Green and Taurean Prince can also help this young team mature and grow.
Losing Harrison Barnes could hurt their offensive production, but Terence Davis would get more playing time, Davion Mitchell would get more playing time and the Kings could add a handful of future value as a result.
Josh Okogie is a great defensive player they could keep around on the wing and a first-round pick in 2022 allows the Kings to replace either Barnes or Bagley with a high-level prospect.

Both Harrison Barnes and Marvin Bagley III have no long-term future in Sacramento, which is why leveraging them for value now makes the most sense.
