Hassani Gravett – Orlando Magic
It is extremely hard to be 1 of 60 players drafted into the NBA each year and with all the talent coming out of the collegiate and international ranks, undrafted free agency has become a huge part of every team’s offseason.
Just because you are not drafted does not mean you are not talented and we have seen plenty of players make a name for themselves after every team in the league passed up on them. Usually, undrafted players give it their all and play with a chip on their shoulder, hence why some teams, like the Miami Heat, actually prefer to sign undrafted rookies instead of keeping their picks and utilizing them.
One player who flew under-the-radar during the pre-draft process was Hassani Gravett and he was one of the lucky ones to receive a 10-day contract from the Orlando Magic.
Gravett spent three seasons at South Carolina before entering the NBA this season and while he was never really a primary scorer, he was always a guy who played hard and played physical driving to the rim.

After his initial 10-day contract with the Magic, Gravett signed a second 10-day hardship contract with the team and has been playing well.
In 6 games with the Magic, 3 of which he started in, Hassani Gravett has averaged 7.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and has shot 45.5% from the floor, 43.5% from three-point range. The Magic are rebuilding right now and just looking for production from any young talents on their roster.
The undrafted rookie has certainly stood out as a guy on the perimeter who can make plays for this team, hence why the Magic are giving him another 10-days on their roster.
It is unknown whether or not the team will look to extend him for the rest of the season, but Gravett has definitely drawn the attention of those around the league.
