Does this trade make sense for the Atlanta Hawks?

Through 33 games last season, the Atlanta Hawks were 14-19. Through 33 games this season, they are 15-18.

It is very possible that Atlanta could once again turn things around and get on a hot streak during the second half of the season, but their defense has not been the same and injuries have really hurt this team’s chances to be successful.

Trae Young and John Collins can only do so much for this team and not having another secondary playmaker at the moment, it is hard to imagine that they will be able to go on a run like they did last season right now, especially given how talented the Eastern Conference is.

Adding a player like Caris LeVert could go a long way in helping the Hawks be a real threat in the East because of the kind of offensive talent he is. LeVert can create space off-the-dribble and is a talented scorer around the rim.

As for Kyle Anderson, the reason he is unique is because of the many different ways the Memphis Grizzlies have utilized him. He is a slower, less-athletic wing in today’s NBA, but Anderson makes up for it with his high basketball IQ.

He can pass, facilitate, rebound, defend multiple positions, and was shot 36.9% from three-point range this season.

Kyle Anderson could replace Danilo Gallinari in the Hawks’ rotations and supply them with a key “sixth-man” in their second-unit behind John Collins.

Giving up Reddish and two first-round picks is a lot of value to surrender for Anderson, who is in the final year of his contract, and LeVert, who has one year left on his contract, but they are both players who would make this team better on both ends of the floor.

Atlanta just needs some better supporting cast right now if they are to get out of their current funk, which is why trading for Caris LeVert and Kyle Anderson could be advantageous to them.
