Orlando Magic Recieve: G Aaron Nesmith, F Juancho Hernangomez, 2022 Second-Round Pick
Boston Celtics Receive: G/F Terrence Ross
This hypothetical deal was put together by Zach Buckley over at Bleacher Report. They put together some hypothetical deals for the next wave of teams that are seemingly tanking. One of those teams is the Orlando Magic, who have one of the better trade chips available in Terrence Ross.
Ross has turned into one of the best sixth men in the NBA in recent seasons. He has struggled thus far this season, but given his track record, teams would still take a chance on acquiring him.
In this deal, it is the Boston Celtics taking a chance on him. This would be the second year in a row the Celtics take a chance on a Magic wing player to help bolster their offense, as they acquired Evan Fournier at the 2021 trade deadline.
At 30-years old, the Magic would be better off cashing in on Ross now, as they moved all of their other veterans at the deadline last season. In return for him, they are getting Aaron Nesmith, a first-round pick in 2020, and Juancho Hernangomez, who is 26-years old and could fit the Magic timeline.

The second-round pick is a solid value for the Magic to get back in return as well, as draft picks are gold for rebuilding teams.
How does this deal impact both teams? Let’s take a look at it from each of their perspectives, starting with the Magic.
