Does this trade make sense for the Chicago Bulls?
If the Chicago Bulls are able to get their hands on Jerami Grant, it is going to be hard not to call them the favorites in the Eastern Conference. Obviously their bench would still be a concerning factor, but they would open up two roster spots by making this trade and they still have that trade exception we mentioned earlier.
They could use part of the $5M TPE to acquire one player via trade and then use the rest of the exception to acquire another smaller contract, but it is also possible that they could use the full $5M to acquire a key bench talent and then utilize their last roster spot for someone who gets bought out of their contract following the trade deadline.
The possibilities are endless for how the Bulls could round out their roster after making this trade, but adding Jerami Grant is certainly a move that they should be interested in making, even if it does cost them key role players like Coby White, Tony Bradley and Derrick Jones Jr.
Grant has the perfect blend of being an elite-level scorer, as well as a terrific one-on-one defender out on the perimeter, which is why the Bulls need him in order to truly compete for a title.

He would take an enormous amount of stress off of DeMar DeRozan to have to do everything on the wing for this team and outside of Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso, who does this team really have defensively?
LaVine has made improvements to his game on this side of the ball and DeRozan is not a terrible defender, but without Patrick Williams, this team really does not have a reliable wing defender. The addition of Jerami Grant gives them one of the better “3-and-D” players in the league right now and someone who can help them compete for the top-seed in the Eastern Conference.
