It seems like there is always some drama surrounding NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets. This time, it is about his vaccination status and this will impact his playing status this season. After previously determining they do not want a ‘part-time player’ who can only play on the road, the Nets are bringing Irving back into the fold.
The vaccination rules in New York have continued to prohibit Irving to play. The lingering thought is that it would not be feasible for the point guard to appear in just road contests, especially come postseason time. If it proves to be too much of a mess, could a trade occur?
Keep in mind, the Nets did not offer Irving a contract extension. If he is not a long-term piece, it would benefit the Nets to make a trade for pieces who could fit the bill.
If Irving is on the trading block, it would make sense for the Washington Wizards to be involved. They are another team that has a decision to make involving an All-Star. Bradley Beal has not requested a trade out of D.C. and it is unlikely that he will. Beal has spent his entire career in Washington but a big move might be needed to keep it that way.
