Given the mandates in New York, it was revealed that Irving is unable to take part in home games with the Brooklyn Nets, forcing him to make a decision on his vaccination status.

Seeing that Irving has continued to push against the notion of him receiving the vaccine, Brooklyn has taken the approach of “Are you in or are you out?” with the All-Star guard, forcing him to stay away from the team until he gets vaccinated.

With the Nets already beginning their season, it remains to be seen if Irving reports to the team in 2021-22.
