Memphis Grizzlies Receive: G/F Kenrich Williams
If the Grizzlies want Kenrich Williams, they can definitely get him in a trade with Oklahoma City at a small price. Thunder general manager Sam Presti loves acquiring draft picks and young talents, which is why he could be more than willing to settle with Jarrett Culver and a second-round pick in 2024.
Culver was originally drafted 6th overall in 2019 by the Timberwolves, but injuries have limited his ability to showcase his abilities on the court.
Still regarded as an athletic, versatile wing, Jarrett Culver just needs somewhere to play and get minutes on the court, something he will not get with the Grizzlies this year.
Oklahoma City has nothing to lose in terms of trying new things, which is why they could be more than willing to trade for Jarrett Culver.

Being in the final year of his rookie deal, the Thunder really would be at a win in this scenario because they have nothing to lose in regards to Culver’s future.
Assuming they trade for him, the Thunder could test Jarrett Culver out in their system for over half a season, giving them a good idea on whether or not he is someone they could see fitting in long-term.
If the answer is no, then at least they would gain a future second-round pick out of Kenrich Williams!

As for Memphis, they have a $4M trade exception that was created when they traded Grayson Allen to the Milwaukee Bucks this past offseason. Not only could they absorb Williams’ contract fairly easily, but his contract really is not anything they would have to be worried about.
For another talented player on the wing that can contribute in any role needed, $2M is nothing for Kenrich Williams, which is why Memphis could look to trade for him this season to add a little extra depth to their bench.
