Atlanta Hawks Receive: G/F Justin Holiday, IND 2023 1st Round Pick (Lottery-Protected)
Indiana Pacers Receive: G/F Cam Reddish, ATL 2023 2nd Round Pick

The Atlanta Hawks are believed to want a first-round pick for any trade involving Cam Reddish and in this deal with the Indiana Pacers, they would be getting a protected 2023 first-round pick, along with a key veteran in Justin Holiday.

Now in his 9th NBA season, Justin Holiday is with his 7th different team in Indiana and has played well for the Pacers through the years. Holiday joined the team ahead of the 2019-20 season and in a Pacers’ uniform, he has averaged 9.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and has shot 38.6% from three-point range.

The stats may not show it, but Holiday is also an above-average perimeter defender. Being that “3-and-D” type of mold on the wing, Justin Holiday would bring experience and perimeter shooting to Atlanta in the short-term and the first-round pick they would get would allow the Hawks to find Cam Reddish’s replacement in the long-term.

As for the Pacers, this team is on the verge of complete collapse. Myles Turner, Domantas Sabonis and Caris LeVert are all on the trade block right now and other than Malcolm Brogdon, everyone seems available for the right price!

The Pacers no longer seem like a contender in the Eastern Conference and have not found any postseason success since Paul George left, which is why a rebuild could be necessary. Chris Duarte is a promising looking rookie on this roster, but they really do not have any other young talents.

Cam Reddish is not one of the best, young talents in the league, but he has been a steady performer this season that has shown growth compared to last season. In 23 games this season, Reddish has averaged 11.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and has shot career-highs in field goal percentage (40%) and three-point percentage (36.7%).

Adding another unique, young talent on the wing like Reddish could go a long way in the Indiana Pacers being able to build something special for the future success of their franchise.
