Throughout the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs, Josh Hart has been an integral part of the New York Knicks’ success. Their do-it-all guard has been stuffing the stat sheet on a nightly basis, chipping in wherever he is needed to help the team win.

During Games 1 and 2 at Madison Square Garden, it was Hart’s hot shooting that helped the Knicks get out to a 2-0 series lead. He ended up making 4+ 3-pointers in the first three games of the series, scoring 20+ points in each as well.

Neither of those things was something Hart accomplished during the 2023-24 NBA regular season, as he saved his best for last. Unfortunately for the Knicks, the shooting stroke was not there in Game 4.

Hart went 0-for-7 from the field, including 0-for-3 from 3-point range. He also shot a ghastly 50 percent from the charity stripe, going 4-of-8. Despite that, he was still able to produce a historic stat line.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Josh Hart & New York Knicks Updates

According to Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic, via Basketaball-Reference, Hart is only the sixth player in NBA history with 0 field goals and 15+ rebounds in a game. Rudy Gobert was the last player to do it two years ago and Ben Wallace accomplished the feat twice.

There is something you will notice between those players and Hart; they are both centers, while Hart is a 6’4” guard. He also became the first player in NBA history to have zero field goals, 15+ rebounds and 5+ assists in a playoff game.

There is very little argument that can be made against Hart being the best rebounding guard in the NBA. What he has done on the glass all season for the Knicks and in the postseason has been truly eye-popping.

He has recorded 13+ rebounds in three out of the four games against the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Playoffs. That has been a major factor in New York holding a commanding 3-1 series lead heading into Game 5 at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.
