The last time the Sacramento Kings were in the playoffs, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and Cars were the two top movies in the nation, Twitter was just created and Barry Bonds hit his 715th career home run, passing Babe Ruth on the MLB All-Time list.
The Kings have missed the playoffs for 15 consecutive seasons, putting them at rock-bottom in the NBA. However, this team has shown promise the last few seasons and they look to be a team on the rise, pending their front-office screwing things up again.
Finishing with 31 wins in back-to-back seasons, the Kings are looking to possibly make a run at the play-in tournament this season and make the playoffs as the 7-seed or 8-seed in the Western Conference.
De’Aaron Fox is a young, high-level talent that can lead them there, but they need more overall talent if they are to finally have a chance at ending this long playoff drought.

It seems likely that the Kings could look to move on from Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley and/or Harrison Barnes at some point this season, but in doing so, they need to make sure they can get some high-level talents in return.
Domantas Sabonis and Caris LeVert would be two solid trade targets for this team, specifically Sabonis. The Kings need an All-Star leader on their team and by adding Domantas Sabonis, they would not only have an All-Star on their team, but they would have a tough duo to stop in Fox/Sabonis.
Pairing him with Fox gives the Kings two potential All-Star-level players to play through on offense and this trade would also allow them to get rid of some “baggage” on their roster in Hield and Bagley.
The Pacers could be willing to take back both Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley III, along with draft picks, for Domantas Sabonis, which is why the Kings need to try and make some kind of a big move.

The Kings always find a way to screw things up, so they will likely do the same trying to get this deal done if it is on the table, but at least there is still a glimmer of hope for this franchise.
