Does this trade make sense for the Cleveland Cavaliers?

Scoring is the main thing the Cleveland Cavaliers need to be searching for ahead of the NBA trade deadline this season. Their frontcourt is full of talent with Mobley, Allen, Markkanen, and Love, but they need more talent on the wing and/or in their backcourt.

With Collin Sexton gone for the season, Cedi Osman has really only been the only productive player for the Cavaliers on the wing. Dean Wade has had some solid performances here and there, as has Isaac Okoro, but they really have no guys that they can depend on to create space and opportunities for themselves.

Darius Garland and Ricky Rubio are the only players on this team that can create for themselves, which is why adding Caris LeVert would take a tremendous amount of pressure off of their backs. He is not much of a facilitator, but he has posted a respectable 2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio since joining the Indiana Pacers and is able to create space on the floor for his teammates because of his ability to attack the basket.

Cleveland needs a guy like this that they can depend on for scoring on the wing, hence why going after Caris LeVert is a move that makes sense, even if they have to give up some core secondary talents to acquire him.

LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Cavs Have ‘Multiple Fans’ Of Caris LeVert In Front Office

According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, there are members of the Cavaliers’ front office that think highly of Caris LeVert and believe that he could be a great fit next to some of their other young talents.

Making $17.5M this season and $18.8M next season, LeVert is not only an affordable player that the Cavs could add to their roster but someone that could provide immediate scoring to help possibly take them to the playoffs for the first time since LeBron James left for Los Angeles.
