The big news around the NBA recently is that the Indiana Pacers could reportedly be heading toward a rebuild. It would essentially be the first time in franchise history that they embarked on such a trail as this is a team that hasn’t had a pick inside the top-10 of the NBA Draft since 1989. The closest they came was selecting Paul George 10th overall in 2010.

The Indiana Pacers don’t tank, but they also don’t spend to reach that upper echelon. They are stuck in the middle, the quagmire of being a small market team that doesn’t have a homegrown star in place.

At 11-16 on the season and seemingly going nowhere, Indiana is reportedly open for business. All-Star Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner and Caris LeVert could all reportedly be had for the right price in a trade.

There are plenty of options when it comes to guessing where those players could land. Of the three, Turner is likely going to be the most popular with his elite rim protection and budding offensive game. Sabonis is a two-time All-Star and likely will bring back the best return package.

Then, there is LeVert. He is struggling this season and at 27-years old is older than Sabonis and Turner. He has a lengthy injury history that could steer some teams away from him. But, he has shown enough flashes of All-Star potential that there will certainly be some teams interested in him.

One team that could show some interest is the Cleveland Cavaliers. According to Chris Fedor, the Cavaliers’ front office has multiple people that think highly of the Michigan product and pieces to make a deal come together.

Collin Sexton was lost to a torn meniscus for the season, so the Cavaliers would certainly like to replace him. He was an integral part of their offense, which is in the bottom third of the league. Cleveland’s success thus far this season is in large part due to their defense, which is currently 4th in defensive rating according to Basketball-Reference.

Caris LeVert has struggled this season, returning from a back injury that held him out of the beginning of the regular season. But, he brings a lot to the table that the team lost with Sexton’s injury and his contract is pretty affordable, playing on a $17.5 million salary this season and $18.8 million next year.

The Cavaliers have an excellent young core with Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. Expect the Cleveland Cavaliers to be aggressive making deals to augment the roster around those three and continue making their unlikely push for the postseason.
