Miles Bridges – Charlotte Hornets
One of the breakout performers through the first quarter of the 2021-22 NBA season has been Miles Bridges and if the young forward continues the pace he is on, he could very well make his first All-Star appearance this year!
Bridges is in his fourth season with the Charlotte Hornets and they may be kicking themselves that they opted not to give him a long-term contract extension prior to the start of this season because Miles Bridges’ price has gone up a whole lot compared to where it was at in the preseason.
The 23-year-old wing is having the best year of his career, averaging 19.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.3 steals and shooting 35.0% from three-point range, making his value extremely high right now.
Very few teams in the league would be able to offer the Hornets a trade package suitable for Bridges, but the Thunder are one of those teams given all the draft picks they have.

Charlotte is not wanting to trade Bridges right now, especially since he has them in the Eastern Conference playoff picture and as one of the best offensive teams in the league, but the idea of moving him before he becomes a free agent is definitely something that this front-office will have to discuss.
Miles Bridges will be a restricted free agent at the conclusion of this season, meaning that the Hornets do have a good chance of retaining him, but there is always that slim chance that another team could sign him for much more than the Hornets would like.
Is this a risk the Charlotte Hornets are really willing to take right now, especially given the young core they have built?
Moving Miles Bridges now could give them the insurance that they need while also still being playoff contenders in the Eastern Conference.

Derrick Favors, Ty Jerome and 2-3 first-round draft picks could be enough for the Thunder to get a deal done for Miles Bridges, but there are no indications that the Hornets are wanting to talk trades around one of their best pure talents.
