Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G James Harden
Brooklyn Nets Receive: G/F Ben Simmons, F Danny Green, PHI 2022 1st Round Pick (Unprotected), PHI 2023 1st Round Pick (Swap, More Favorable)

For Kyrie Irving, the Nets could be interested in making this trade seeing as Irving is not going to be able to play for them all year long, but it is very far-fetched to believe that the Nets will bite on any trade involving Harden.

He is just too valuable to this team right now and even if they get a bunch of value from the 76ers, having Ben Simmons with Kevin Durant does not seem too ideal. Pairing him with Harden and Durant could work, but just alone for Harden is a no-go for Brooklyn.

Since arriving in Brooklyn, James Harden has been spectacular for the Nets in many different ways. His 15 triple-doubles with the Nets ranks him second all-time behind Jason Kidd (61) and he has really stepped up into more of a facilitator role with Irving now out.

On the year, James Harden is averaging 21.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 8.8 assists and is shooting 41.6% from the floor, 37.9% from three-point range. Given the new foul calls and the new ball, Harden has struggled a little bit on offense, but he has scored at least 24 points in four of his last five games, including a 39-point night against the New Orleans Pelicans on November 12.

Harden is too valuable to the Brooklyn Nets to give up right now, even if they are getting Ben Simmons, Danny Green and draft compensation. Ben Simmons would make the Nets better defensively, but the last thing they want to deal with is the combo of negative attention from both Irving and Simmons.

There are no guarantees that Simmons is even ready to come back and play basketball for a different team in this league! Trading James Harden leaves Kevin Durant alone on the Nets roster, which is not a good thing for both him and the team as a whole.
